Natales
This city is the living testimony of human capacity to integrate to an apparently adverse environment, but actually full of treasures. The City of Puerto Natales (Founded in 1911), currently has 19.500 inhabitants.
This city is surrounded by sites of singular beauty, dominated by stock farms and mountain chains. It has become a departure point for great adventures in different tourist attractions, such as: Bernardo O’Higgins National Park, Torres del Payne National Park and Mylodon Cave and the glacier Perito Moreno.
The city enjoys diverse attraction points, for example museums, Promenade Avenue, the main square Plaza de Armas, viewpoints, Artisan Village and Bories Meat Processing Plant, which is situated 5Km to the north of the city.
Location: 247 Km north of Punta Arenas. To 140 kms. Torres del Paine and 258 kms. of Calafate.
Cerro Castillo Village
It is the capital of Torres del Payne area. It has 300 inhabitants who mainly work in stock farming activities. The majority of its buildings are from the beginning of the century and they were part of the former Cerro Castillo Ranch, regarded as the vastest in the continental part of Magellan Region.
Interesting sites: Cerro Castillo Cemetery, Santa Teresa Cave, Los Condores viewpoint.
Location: 59 Km away from Puerto Natales – Ruta Nº 9 Norte.
